Edward Walford Manifold was born on 28th April 1892 and grew up in the Western District of Victoria. Together with his older brother William Herbert (Bee), he travelled to England to join the Royal Field Artillery when World War I broke out. Day by day, this blog publishes his letters home and the entries he made in his diaries, from 1915 when he was first sent to France until 1918 when his service ends. Diary Entry - 25th November, 1915
Another day spent with the guns. The C.O. had another day in the trenches, registering his guns in the new position. I forgot to add that the remaining two guns were moved to their new position in the early morning by Siggers, who was on duty at the O.B.

ReplyDeleteAh ... I shall ask my son-in-law about VRS. I have a diary that I want to have typed by the time I go to Paris again next September. VRS would make that within reach. What is the name of the software that you use?
I use Dragon - whatever the latest version is of it. I bought it over the internet. If you get to that point, I can send you the link to the business that sells it. It is fairly amazing, although you still have to be a bit hawk-eyed about the odd tiny word here and there.
