A cold cloudy windy day
and inclined to thaw. I rode out after breakfast with Bombardier
Nichol to find RE material, going round to the outskirts of
Havrincourt wood, where there have been a lot of 18-pounder gun
positions. We find a lot of stuff and not far from a bridge which
just crosses the canal below the position. Siggers and Nicholson
arrived at the wagon lines for lunch, the latter going on leave in
the evening.
