Diary Entry - 8th May, 1917
After breakfast Sandford, Bellew and I walked up in front of the Sucrerie to look out a forward position for one gun for sniping purposes. We chose a spot close to a trench some 500 in front of the Sucrerie. On the way back called in at the old German gun positions and collected some large German cartridge cases.
